Another rejected image
This image was also rejected as i didn't feel it had a direct mode of address to be on the front cover. I also never used this image on the double page spread either as i wanted the images to engage the audience and make it feel like the artist 'Drifter' was talking to them and i wanted the images to reflected this idea

Double Page (Writing First Draft)
The long awaited exclusive interview with damage which all you hip-hop/rap fans have been waiting for is finally here. Damage has battled his way from the bottom and now he is here to take on the top of the rap game so with out further ado…Lets get ready to Ruuuuuumble!!! Drifter talks exclusively Bass Hype and personally to Sincere
Sincere- With 4 mix tapes, 2 albums and a brand new record deal it is arguable that Damage you had one of the most productive 2 years your life
Drifter – (Laughs Modestly) Yeah it has been pretty hectic at times but it’s all good. I feel as if it’s a very big achievement for myself I didn’t think it was possible.
Sincere – Congratulations on your new contract with Island records how did it feel when you secured the deal with them?
Drifter – Thanks I have to admit at first didn’t seem real because I can still remember the days when I was spittin bars on the street corner. Everything changed so quickly I feel as if im living the dream already. I could have imagined this happening 5 years ago considering I was living in one of the notorious estates in wembley i didn’t think dreams like this could happen for people like me.
Sincere – You mentioned you used to live in Wembley, what was that like ?
Drifter – Well I have a lot of love for Wembley it’s the place where I grew up it wasn’t a great environment for me because I grew up on the projects and I remember seeing a lot of events that kids of my age group shouldn’t have been seeing by watching other peoples struggle made me more determined that I wouldn’t follow that ghetto route of drugs and poverty.
Sincere – What else made you determined to succeed?
Drifter - Another thing that motivated me was my mum. I watched her working her hardest in order to make sure there was food on the table and I owe a lot of what I am now to her she was a grafter and a real go getter person if she set her mind on going to do something or going to getting something you better believe she was gone get it.
Sincere – What sort of reception do you get when you go back to Wembley?
Drifter – Well there are a lot of people that give me a very warm reception I also owe a lot to because most of my fans have supported me from day 1.They bought my albums ,mix tapes which has allowed me to continue what I love and hopefully do best rapping.
Sincere – It’s become apparent to us that your workload has been very high this year so tell us about some of your mix tapes and of course the long awaited 2 albums.
Drifter – Well my first mix tape was called ‘Dangerous Mind’ This idea of this mix tape was basically me laying down raw hardcore street bars to try and give an insight to my fans of how my life was living in Harlem and growing up on the projects as a child. My First album was called ‘rehabilitation’ the idea behind this being that I went to a rehab centre in order to try and water my tracks down to enable all different audiences to be able to listen to my music without being offended due to the expletives I used in the first mix tape (Dangerous Mind). My second mix tape was called ‘Flying High’ the idea behind this being that because my first album was such a big hit with my fans and also made me a considerable amount of money that I would give the fans an insight into my life and how It was changing. However the third mix tape ‘product of the hood’ was again taking the fans back to how my life style used to be after various requests and fan mail asking for me to consider making something similar to ‘Dangerous Mind’ and I hope the fans like that one. My latest album which isn’t out on the streets yet but is going to be dropping very soon is called ‘Danger Of Death’ and Im not telling Bass Hype any info on this however I have brought you a copy so check it out and to the fans I would say go kop it your like what you hear.
Sincere – Damage we all know that you must be racking in the Money at the moment but do you believe it has changed you?
Drifter – Well I believe that money can change a lot of things but not me. I have always kept reminding myself don’t ever forget what and where you came from in order to maintain a focus about myself and I always remember how easy it could be for this surreal lifestyle to all come crashing down for me and how easy it could be to be forgotten in this rap game that’s why I am continuously in studio making music otherwise if you fall behind in this game you don’t often catch up.
Sincere – Well with money comes women and you must have had your fair share of women by now how are you finding that?
Drifter – Hahaha (laughs Damage) well I don’t really see women in the way which you may have just said that but of course yeah its like you said you get a lot more women approaching you when your famous for you autograph and what not and also in your videos you always have beautiful women in your videos to go with the lifestyle that I am living. How ever I am not taken at the moment so you know I’ll just see how it goes.
Well here’s we wrapped it up with Drifter we want to say thanks for the insight into your new lifestyle and especially for the preview of your new album and good luck for the future and keep doing your thing in the Rap/Hip-hop game.

Vibe Contents page
However this contents page goes against the typical contents page for one main reason the fact that it says contents page 3/3 suggest that 2 more contents pages were printed in order to cater to diffrent types of artists to attract more of a variety of diffrent audiences which is a good idea as they are more likely to have more readers if they are projecting diffrent images by printing diffrent contents pages and also diffrent front pages as seen on one of my analysis of the front pages before they also promote there website in the contents page allowing the audience to consume their product in diffrent ways to suit them which is more likely to be more appealing to the audience as they have more freedom of choice. The contents page address the audience directly as it seems almost as it is talking to the audience for example it says 'chris rock is back' suggesting that you are telling someone that he is back therefore making the magazine seem as it is addressing you directly which is going to have more of a sucessful impact as it makes the reader feel more involved with the magazine and it also makes it seem more personal.

Contents Page Analysis (50 Cent)
However it is arguable that the magazine is going against the typical stereotype for example it has the issue number inside on the contents page when it is usually found on the front cover of the magazine to inform the reader what issue number it is however if it was left on the inside of the magazine on the contents page this could become annoying to the reader as they may not be able to find out what issue number it is affecting whether or not they purchase this magazine and if this is the same for other members which the magazine is aiming at it could really affect their sales.

Busta Rhymes The Source
Gucci Mane Magazine Cover
I can tell that this magazine is aimed more towards men than women through the main image which is a picture of Gucci Mane who has lots of tattoos projecting a bad boy image which is what men are more likely to be interested in as it is stereotypical for rappers to have tattoos also the fact that Gucci Mane has lots of Jewellery would also be aiming more towards men as most rappers have lots of jewellery aswell this would also suggest that Gucci Mane is very sucessful for example as he can afford to have 3 diffrent watches which look expensive on one arm. The colour scheme combined with the main image projects a sense of danger for example the fact that the title is red and that the main image is showing all of Gucci Mane's tattoos projects a sense of danger which is more likely to appeal more to men than women i also believe the age group target are likely to be around 16-25 as they are more likely to listen rap/Hip-hop music and the fact that they are using fairly young artists would also suggest they are expecting younger people to know about these artists unlike the older generation who are unlikely to listen to rap/Hip-hop as they may not like the image portrayed by rappers or the language used in rap/Hip-hop music in general therefore it is targeting a younger audience.

Textual Analyis Of Image
Vibe magazine is a American based magazine which specialises in hip-hop & R&B music. I can tell this because of the artists featured within the magazine for example Beyonce is a R&B and Hip-Hop artist they also advertise the names of other Hip-Hop/R&B artists such as Ne-yo, Rich Boy, Kelly Rowland And Fabulous. From the front cover i can gather that the magazine is mainly aimed towards men this due to the way in which Beyonce is used on the front cover for example the fact that she is project in a wet look effect and exposed clothing is more appealing towards men rather than women promoting this is a man's magazine. Another way in which i can tell the magazine is aimed towards men is thought the use of the main header which says 'Beyonce Strips down for summer' This shows the magazine is aimed towards men again as the magazine is referring to women stripping down i also think that the age of the target audience is about 16 -25 through the image of beyonce and also through the other artists names which are mentioned at the top of the magazine which are more likely to be known be by this age group
Another way in which the magazine can be said to be aiming at an older more mature audience for example teenagers of 16+ is through the selling lines which make the audience want to buy the magazine for example the selling line on this magazine is 'see 10 pages of beyonce as you have never seen her before' this along with the image projects a more older
mature audience being targeted.
The use of the colour red and black is used to make the magazine stand out and to catch the readers eye the use of the colour red can be used to combine with the image are used to catch the audiences eye while beyonce herself is on a white background which can be used to project a sense of innocence although her clothing suggest otherwise this image projects women who do r&b/ hip-hop to be provocative as well as very successful as we can see from the gold jewellery which is on her two wrists which show she is successful. Another way in which the magazine trys to catch the readers attention is through the typography. As the Vibe magazine has used bold typing in order to draw more attention to the magazine for example on the masthead combined with the red and black writing this makes it more likely to draw attention from the readers more than other magazines because it stands out the most.
